There are many things you can gift a cook or chef, but at the same time, they probably have a lot of tools already. Here are the three main things that you cannot miss and that they will absolutely love.
1. Containers and storage items
Cooking tons of different foods and trying out recipes is great, but then you have to think about where you’re going to put it. Cooks always need more space for food and ingredients!
- Bowls
The best thing about bowls and basins is that they can be used either to serve the food or to store it and save it for later. Granted, not all food can be kept in bowls, but having a complete (and pretty) set of them will for sure make it easier.
- Plastic or glass containers
Food storage containers never get old! And there is no such thing as having to many. While plastic ones are lighter, and so, easier to carry around, glass containers are perfect for chefs and cooks because they are the best for storing food and ingredients, be it in the fridge or in the freezer. What’s more, some glass containers can be directly put in the oven!
- Jars
Jars, especially mason jars, were a really big trend a while ago. Truth is they are indeed a wonderful way to store all sort of edibles. They save space and they look amazing in your kitchen or even on the table. You can use them for cookies, spices, and then also for pickles. There are many sizes as well! Just make sure the lid is hermetic if they’re going to be used with liquids.
2. A place to store knives
A chef wouldn’t be one without their collection of knives. How they choose to store them and how organised they are about them says a lot about their personalities. Whatever the case, they will always love to have their knives arranged the way they like!
- Blocks
You can’t go wrong with knife blocks. They come in many styles and sizes and they’re made with different materials so that every chef out there can have it exactly as they like it. Knife blocks are super practical and, of course, they look great.
- Roll-up bags
If you want to save space, or if you often need to carry your knives from one place to another, this is the item for you: roll-up storage bags ensure that every knife is stored in a secure, organised and super fancy manner.
3. Personalised items
Perhaps a little bit less essential, but just as loved by cooks: personalised items. You can customise almost everything by engraving, sewing or printing something. Cutting boards and aprons are the most popular ones.
- Boards
One can never have too many boards, as they come in different sizes, colour, materials, etc. Cooks and chefs often use different colours to differentiate between the boards and give them different usages. As a plus, as with everything else we mentioned, a colourful set of boards looks amazing in photos.
- Aprons
That’s right. You can also choose an apron that has an image that the chef loves, or their name. Sometimes you can even add pockets or other stuff. Make it fun and useful!
